The Gallery is very pleased to present second solo exhibition by Ibro Hasanovic, young artist living and working in Sarajevo. Hasanovic’s second solo exhibition in (for the last time) Galerija 10m2 is structured around “rebranding the gallery” in which he explores the relation of the gallery with marketing, public, politics, culture market, etc.

The work of Ibro Hasanovic has been feature in some mayor exhibitions regionally and worldwide: Histories of dialogue at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Video-windows in the Metropolitan Art Museum of Pusan, Theory in Practice 3 in OTOK Gallery Dubrovnik, at the Whitebox Gallery in New-York and in a huge number of video festivals in Zagreb, Berlin, Graz, Strasbourg, etc. He has also worked as a curator; NBA (New Bosnian Artists) project, French Pavilion, etc.

In a lot of his early works he refers to the work of other artist to crate layers that offer multiple levels of interpretation. The artistic forms he chooses for his works are usually very minimalist, from video across the painting to installation, with this simplicity he “creates the canyon for direct communication with the initial concept/idea”. In his recent work he has studied the work of computer data movement and at the end talk about artistic sketching, process of creating artwork, physical movement of people and objects.

In 2005, with a grey crayon, he has covered the gallery wall with sentence “to be good, to be true” in the manner of a seismograph. And at the end formed an installation that beside the wall; included a documentary video of the same performance that took place in Dubrovnik.

This year, Ibro Hasanovic has noticed that the exhibition’s space of the Galerija 10m2 is in fact of 6,8m2. This assessment will be the base for changing the name of the gallery and production of several art pieces: wall paintings, sound band, neon sign, T-shirts, stickers...
